Why page count varies
Font size
11pt fits ~10% more per page than 12pt. Calibri and Arial run slightly wider than Times New Roman.
Margins
1-inch / 2.54 cm margins are standard for most academic work. Narrower margins increase words per page.
Line spacing
Double spacing halves the words per page. 1.5 spacing falls between single and double.
